Music
Music is an important part of every student’s high school education. Music at Wellington High School not only provides a comprehensive exposure to what music is but also its role in society. In Mandatory Stage 4 and Elective Stages 5 & 6, students learn to perform, compose, discuss and analyse music from a variety of genres and cultures.
The music department also provides students with extracurricular opportunities which include the NEW school choir (led by Miss Gabrielle Magee), excursions to professional record their original and assessment performances, participation in school and local performances, including the Wellington Eisteddfod, the Annual Musical excursion to Sydney, participation in Schools Spectacular NSW and the NEW annual MADD concert (Music, Art, Dance and Drama), created by Miss Monique Hardie.
