Open Boy's and Girls compete in the Futsal Regional Championship in Bathurst.
Both teams played 4 main round games in a play off for the semi finals.
After a slow start to the day, possibly due to the very early departure time, the boys finally came together as a team and made some great plays. After going down against Cowra the boys met a strong team from Young. They weren't strong enough, as with 3 balls finding the net we had our first win of the day.
The girls had a later start, and the extra time was put to good use with some players keen to watch and see how the game was played! We finished the first round on the top of the ladder and faced Oberon again in the semi-final. A comfortable 2-nil win saw us progress to the grand-final against Young where we rose to the challenge and played our best game of the day. We won 4-nil and were crowned Regional Champions! Special mentions go to:
- Rhianna Sutherland – unbeatable in goal and champion of "keeper runs"
- Ellie Flannagan – Golden boot of the day for Wellington High
- Sara Darney and Britt Naden who were an unstoppable force in the mids
- Maddison Smith, Madi Hannelley and Jemma Turner - three terriers in defence, never giving up and chasing the ball down the court in great support of the mids and striker.
