Royal Easter Show Success

Wellington High students achieve great things at the Royal Easter Show.

Eight students attended the anual Royal Easter show to compete in the cattle show. Every animal that was taken won an award. Notable achievements were:

  • Junior paraders - Leiha McGeorge 3rd place
  • School steer - Highly commended live, fifth on hook and a sliver medal for the carcass
  • Open steers (3)- one 3rd live another 3rd on hook and silver medal, the other 5th on hook and a bronze medal.
 
The team also presented cattle from the Speckle park stud - these cattle were also very successful, achieving:
 
  • Reserve senior campion female (cow and calf)
  • Junior champion bull
  • Senior Champion bull, that went on to be grand champion bull and best speckle park exhibit.
