Bronze at the Western NSW Culinary Challenge
On Wednesday 30thOctober, 2013 I took a team of students to Bathurst to compete in the Western NSW Culinary Challenge. The team consisted of Erin Melhuish, Renae Gowans, Kaleah Austin and Tarra Miller.
The dishes (pictured below) were created from a select group of ingredients. Entrée - Tasting plate which consisted of Chicken cheese balls, Asian chicken wings and a poached chicken Larb, prepared by Erin and Tarra.
Main - Spinach and bean chicken involtini with cream filled chats and cream of carrot garnished with crispy chicken skin.
Kate Bracks 2011 Masterchef winner was very impressed by our dish as you can see from her Facebook status on the right. It was great to see someone nationally recognised in the hospitality industry acknowledge and complement our dish.
Kinross Wolaroi was awarded 1st and 2nd place and we were the only public school to receive a place. Congratulation to these girls you put in an amazing effort on the day; you are winners in my eyes.
