A year at our school
Meet our Captains - Wellington High School is proud to introduce our 2026 School Captains, who will lead with integrity, representing student voice and positive school culture. They will support school initiatives, strengthen student leadership and represent the school at official events throughout 2026.
NASCA - Aboriginal Girls Academy - One of the many programs the NASCA Girls Academy provides students with is meaningful cultural learning through engagement with local knowledge holders, including Alicia from OchreUp. Through on-country photography and wellbeing workshops, students develop a deeper understanding of culture, identity and connection to community. These experiences enrich learning through storytelling, creativity and cultural awareness, strengthening students’ sense of belonging and respect for Aboriginal culture.
Wellington High School Cattle Show Team - This team provides students with hands-on learning opportunities in livestock handling, animal welfare and agricultural show preparation. Through training, teamwork and competition, students develop confidence, responsibility and industry-based skills while representing the school with pride at local and regional shows. The program supports leadership development, practical learning and strong connections to our rural community.
Real Madrid partnership with Spain - This international partnership with Real Madrid, provides students with a unique opportunity to participate in high-quality football development and global learning experiences. Through this program, students engaged in elite training, leadership development and cultural exchange, while strengthening teamwork, discipline and global awareness.
WHS State Finalist Softball Team - Three Wellington High School students — Acadia, Addy and Piper — represented the Western Region Open Girls Team at the NSWCHSSA Secondary Softball Championship after being selected at last year’s regional gala day, where the team went undefeated.
We are extremely proud of their efforts and look forward to seeing them in action again at the state championships in Term 2.
